Develop 3D model of standing seam roofing and fibre-cement cladding works to facilitate and communicate technical design and enable accurate measurement and quantification of materials

Using 3D structural information from the steel and concrete fabricators, we took the 2D architectural content and developed it into a 3D model for visualisation of the roofing & cladding works and its contextual relationship with the 3D structural content. Utilising the 3D model, we were particularly able to assess the multi-pitched roof design and in partnership with the main contractor, alleviate some logistical and technical detailing issues ahead of site activity.

Developing up the technical design from the 3D model, we were able to accurately estimate quantities for the Euro-Clad standing seam roof system and Tegral fibre-cement cladding and generate better coordinated details enabling more efficient site works.

As part of our own internal development, we also generated some interactive 3D walkthroughs of the building to enhance communication with the main contractor and design team at site/design development meetings.
